Have you ever wondered what is lacking in modern youth ministry? It seems to isolate the youth group from the rest of the church, to be entertainment based rather than Bible-based, and it also seems to be ineffective in making long-term disciples.
The Bible does not give an exact “How To” on youth ministry. However, one verse lets us know what Jesus did in these formative years. “Jesus increased in wisdom, stature, and in favor with God and man.” Luke 2:52
Our goal is to build a ministry to youth based on the principles found in Luke 2:52. We want to avoid the trap of isolation of the youth program from the main church program. We need to bring youth and adults together to make up the life of the church. We believe teens are actually young adults and “adolescence” is a myth. Treated as such, they arise mighty in spirit.
According to scripture, we believe that parents are given the primary role in the spiritual upbringing of their teen. We exist to support parents in being the godly parents God meant them to be. We also believe that parents can and should be the greatest examples to the youth.
