What to Expect When You Visit

Visiting any church for the very first time can be a daunting experience.  Well, we want to put you at ease. We do all we can to make your first visit to The Home Church refreshing, friendly, and enjoyable for your whole family. We want you to experience inspiring music, helpful teaching, friendly people, and a place where you feel welcome and "at home!" Here are a few answers to your questions and what you might expect on your first visit.

Who is Dr. Tim Pollock?

Dr. Tim Pollock received a Th.g in Pastoral Studies in 1977 and answered the call to pastor Bible Baptist Church in Stockton in 1979. His down-to-earth preaching style is refreshing and we hope you enjoy it! You can read more about him and the rest of our Pastoral Staff by clicking here.

What can I expect on my first visit?

Our growing campus is in between Eight Mile Rd and Ham Ln. The "big red roof" and Noah's Park Playground make our church hard to miss. As you approach the main worship center, one of our hospitality greeters will meet you and direct you to the right classes and services. They can also answer other questions you may have.

During the 9:30 hour, there are Adult Bible Fellowships. These classes are smaller group settings where you are invited to meet people, enjoy some coffee and donuts, and hear a Bible lesson designed for a small classroom setting. The best way to get to know people at The Home Church is to visit one of these Adult Bible Fellowships.

Then at 10:30 AM most adults attend at least one worship service where they enjoy the beautiful and inspiring music of The Home Church's Music Ministry and soloists. The music is always followed by a clear, helpful, and challenging Bible message from Dr. Pollock. The entire service is a little over one hour in length.

Where do I take my children?

Starting with excellent nurseries and ending with the teens, there is something special for every age child. At every service there are safe, clean, and highly staffed nurseries for children four years old and under. During Sunday School and the morning service, for children five years old through 5th grade as well as teens 6th-12th grade there are fun, friendly, and Bible-centered classes These classes are staffed with trained, friendly, and well-qualified teachers and helpers who will make church exciting and memorable for your child.

Our campus has several classrooms, which to a guest can seem overwhelming at first. It's not as complicated as it looks, and we would like to help you find the appropriate classes for every person in your family. Our greeters and ushers are located around campus as well as in the lobby of the main worship center and will gladly help direct and even escort you to the right place.  You can find out more about our children's program by clicking the link to the Children's Ministry

How should I dress?

There is not a dress code at The Home Church for members or guests. Our ministry leaders and many of our church family dress in more traditional “Sunday” dress; however, our main goal is that you would feel welcome and comfortable on your visit here at The Home Church!

Am I expected to participate in the offering?

No. We don't invite you to The Home Church for your offering. We want our service to be a gift to you. We hope you will find in this place a warm family spirit, truth from God's Word, and a place where you can grow in God's grace. Please don't feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest.
